At East Lake Toho fishing in Orlando?
I'll travel fishing 1 day at East Lake Toho and am thinking about renting a small motorboat. I have no experience in fishing the great lakes or fishing that area, so any help on finding a good place and that in terms of use of bait / lures would be great. Thank you!
I have fished many times Toho (in tournaments and for fun). In general, you want to start early in the morning (5 AM). Cast structure and weedbeds coast until about 11AM. From 11-4pm nap or a long lunch (unless it is sunny or raining). Your chances of catching anything during the hottest hours of the day are minimal. If you plan to fish through the PRTs hot day, delivery docks and downs in the coup-8-10ft of water. Throwing a paddle tail worm (or spinnerbait) around the wooden structure can be productive! Junebug colored soft plastic, Chad Red / green glitter, purple, Motor Oil, Pumpkin, etc. and work Spinnerbaits Rapala Husky Jerk and "search lures" (low). Bait-A. For Bass-6.8 "bruising, (float these under a cork platform or balloon). B. Mojarra – crickets, meal worms or earthworms. Your "best bet" (low) would troll at a rate Spinnerbaits accelerated melting. If you catch a couple in an area, slow down and start using the soft plastic. Or start work immed docks. with Senko, shovel Queue Texas-rigged 8 "and S-bait worms. Keep a Rattletrap (in Shad / pattern Pogey) handy deep weed bed edges and Schooly-Bass. I hope this help ya? Good fishing.
