Fly Fishing strikes questions about treatment.?
I am new to fly fishing and was fishing in the lake Friday afternoon, a small bank lake. That I have had 25 strikes in a spider I was using, but there is interested. It seemed that the fish were doing body slams of a spider, but never Back to destroy him. So what should I do to get the fish to eat the spider. All three of you are right. I still have trouble configuring the hook. After 40 years of bass fishing is hard not to set the hook that way. I'm learning to use the fly rod correctly. Second, the spider was using was great. I went in the morning with a traditional post and online. Caught but nothing stunted panfish. The time to find another lake to try. The reason which was still in the lake was that the State Department of Conservation stocks the lake with trout for the winter season. Just checking things out.
Well, I'm betting that these fish were probably panfish smaller class. I would suggest two things that can help connect some fish. number one is to start using spiders or small poppers to fit the smaller mouth. if larger fish and are just "glued" you then pop fly across the top of the water for a second and then let it stop, which triggers a natural reaction for most panfish that makes them think the food could escape and makes them go crazy, you can also help you select the largest. best of luck
