Tuna fishing tips to help you catch more Tuna
Ask five anglers how to catch more tuna and obtain five different answers. Some may be ineffective, while others are simply a waste of your time. Here are some techniques that tuna are guaranteed to help you catch more tuna.
If you are fishing for tuna some techniques has been shown to work better than others. Tuna usually bite better in lower lighting. In my experience, fishing in early morning or late afternoon tends to work better. Some days early bite, bite a few days later. It goes without saying that you should never leave fish to find fish. Even if you only catch Mahi Mahi, not leave the area until they have called the filler, or looking for other challenges.
Trolling for tuna works very well. Typically using multiple decoy spread at least twenty feet works well. I like fishing for tuna with a base 'W pattern "which is basically 2 lines long attached to each rocker, 2 shorter lines held flat and a long line with a green machine draw down the middle. Save the green machine lures far behind any other.
If you are fishing for squid bars make sure they are in a diamond shape. Diamond-shaped bars of squid are very similar to training that schools of bait fish use for protection. When all else fails, to hunt dolphins, whales and sharks. Large schools of tuna often can be found by following these natural hunters. Furthermore, it is always a good idea to watch the birds dive, as this is usually a sign of the great schools of fish as bait.
