Carson Hot Springs

Whether you just finished walking at the foot of Mt. Adams, Klickitat river fishing, or antique shops in White Salmon, a fun way to end the day is a stop on the Carson Mineral Hot Springs Spa & Golf Resort on the outskirts of Carson, Washington. The Scenic Drive Within hours of Portland and 45 minutes from Vancouver, WA, these springs are a mix of rustic and sparkling new accommodations.

Built in 1892, the original bath house still in use, next to Hotel San Martin, built in 1901, where you check in after plunging into the claw-foot tubs in the running mineral water directly from springs, an assistant will wrap you in a cocoon blankets, purifying and energizing your body at rest for 20 minutes. Massages are also available with raising therapists.

The spa rooms are a mixture of old tradition and modern look, no televisions or telephones to disturb your sleep. The tradition in the resort is "off for a while."

Skamania Lodge Golf Course

Skamania Lodge offers 18 holes, par-70 golf course with spectacular views and quiet green. Amenities include a driving range, bunker practice, chipping and putting green. Set in 175 acres of forest, the course also features a pro shop, rental cars, and PGA professionals to help with their game.

Golf packages are available as well as a golf school with professional instruction for all levels of golf experience. Since March, The hostel organizes several golf tournaments throughout the spring and summer, including turns and charity events. Annual passes and businesses are also available.

For family outings, Skamania Lodge Golf Course offers a "Bigfoot Family Golf Program for the Sunday and Tuesday evenings from June to September.

Beacon Rock Golf Course

Playing the Rock! Is the motto of Beacon Rock Golf Course. Built with time, energy and supplies donated by residents who want a place to play locally, this 18-hole course offers excellent playing conditions in an environment beautiful, just east of Beacon Rock State Park on the Washington side of Columbia River, three miles west of the Bridge of the Gods.

Emphasizing in a sense of community, Beacon Rock offers weekly specials that cover the range of golfers, including packages for young, old, men and women. During low season, offering a pass for unlimited golf winter from November to February.

Hood River: hiking and mountain biking

Eagle Creek Hike

The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic area is known for its high concentration of waterfalls, which makes the landscape even more compelling drama for hikers. From temperate rainforests rivers cascading There is everything from day excursions to multi-day backpacking. When completed, the Way of the Columbia Gorge will be extended for more than 35 miles through the length throat. Trail planners envision a way to Portland to Hood River.

For hiking, the Eagle Creek trail is a popular 13-mile hike visiting more cascades (half dozen) than any other road in the gorge. To maintain an easy grade, the engineers created criticized ledges of the cliffs. Open all year moderate, 4.2 miles of trail will take you over a spectacular gorge to one of the world's most photographed waterfalls, 30-foot Punchbowl Falls. If you feel like more, the trip to Niagara is a difficult tunnel of 12 kilometers to climb 1,200 vertical meters (which is in the gorge after everything!). Be advised, no dogs allowed, and hikers will be fined if caught with their animals. This is a dangerous path of four feet.

Ruckel Ridge Loop Hike

Looking for a more rugged to cope? Try Ruckel Ridge, a primitive trail that climbs four miles in 3750 meters before descending into eight miles loop. From hiking and out of the way to be warned, this is not for the faint of heart. It also recommends not to bring dogs. Widely recognized as most treacherous day of hiking in the throat, have good boots, solid route research skills, and strong legs. Dry weather is also a duty. They like to walk alone? Try another way. It is highly recommended that the soloists find someone to hike this trail.

If you are in a reasonable, initial climb is not bad, just a series of obstacles to hand over hand at a pace yet. For a demanding climb, there's nothing like mountain biking in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Known for extreme sports in the area because of the harsh conditions, enthusiasts will find this road is a mixed bag of conditions and difficulties. The trip is 12 miles away more than half of gravel and dirt roads track, the rest alone. While the roads are generally in good condition, there are some areas with large stones. Three Corner Rock

On the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area you find a local favorite ride in the State Yacolt burn the forest. The walk starts on a rough gravel road, steep and without incident. However, once the singletrack trail, the trip gets interesting. The road descends rapidly, climbing hills with some intense bursts through a forest to Stebbins Creek. Zigzag abound, so will your quads start test and the pedals. Fishing

One of the rivers flowing from Washington more time off, the Klickitat River, located in southeast Washington, flows 100 miles from birth to the Columbia River. With tributaries flowing from the snow-capped Mt. Adams, this river is famous for its fishing for salmon and steelhead. The walls deep basalt canyon of the river gorge and a beautiful landscape of trees on the crests of the hills to create a unique environment for fly fishing. Half a mile upstream of the community of Lyle, the river narrows into a chute, where salmon and steelhead struggle upriver to spawn every fall.

Skamania Lodge

Skamania Chinook is the word indigenous word for "swift water", which describes the many waterfalls near this mountain resort located in the magnificent Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Just 45 miles east of Portland, Oregon, Washington, on the side of the Columbia River, the resort offers 254 rooms, 22,000 square feet of conference space for events, and an 18-hole, par 70 golf course.

Built in 1993 in a public-private partnership, including the Columbia River Gorge Commission USDA Forest Service, Skamania County, and Grayce Resources, Inc., the cottage was designed with the great lodges of the early 1900s in mind.
