motor boats with a strange noise when I accelerate?
I have a 2006 150 hp Mercury Optimax. I was recently fishing in flamenco while reach a point the engine struck a tree in the water. I felt once I turned off the engine blow and raised the engine and everything seemed fine. i lit became in a perfect circle around before i leave my place to make sure that the engine was running well and it was. Once I got home I started the engine thoroughly, but wanted to ensure that the propeller was good from the previous blow so I put in the motor flusher and accelerated a bit so that the propeller can be rotated to see if everything was Once it accelerated a sound cable that sounds as if the propeller was loose but I took the propeller was made everything was ok and safe thing was so tried again with easel, and especially noice was still there secound time i tried I realized that the noise sounded like a propeller, but was actually coming from the bottom of the unit
Sounds like bum center propeller. This pillar will have a Flo-Torq center, which is designed to break if the impact of the helix. Remove the propeller, and look inside. The center will be apparent damage. These can be easily changed, and costs about $ 60 from Merc dealer. If this is not the problem, it is likely that the shaft bent, best head for the distributor.
