Can anyone help me choose a fishing rod and reel?
I like fishing in a river rather small the Powell River to be specific for small mouth and quite large rivet for trout. I would like to keep it fairly cheap any ideas?
To agree with other posters-a 6wt that suits you, depending on the size under a 7wt would also demand, without being too heavy-handed. Another point to agree with, you can spend a small amount in a bar, but what we really need to do is purchase a WF line to match the rod, in this case a 6wt, a floating line is all you need to get started. As for the bars, so we tend not recommend TFO (Temple for equipment suppliers), but recently gave me one and the price was not so bad. They have enough power in the blank space to handle fish fight harder, I also recommend a model with the butt of a battle for ease of use.
