I bought a fishing rod in a thrift shop of age. It is said IGFA50. It has a Shimano Reel AX-400S.?
Can anyone tell me anything about this bar? Like the IGFA does 50 stand for? Or how many pounds the reel can take?. The rod coastal states with a boat in front of the word of the Coast. The spool Shimano says SPOOL F4 12/311, 14/255 /, 17/220. That means the minimal line test is 12 pounds and the maximum is 17? Or is just a guide. Also does that work well with this bar in particular. And it came to the line above it, but I do not know how old it is. Should I just replace. Please help with any information you have. Oh yes only if this matter. I'm fishing in New York, Far Rockaway in salt water. In the bays and rocks on the beach. I most people here are catching Bluefish and Striped Bass.
