How cool the fish that walks a Mexican?
I'm looking at getting a Mexican walking fish, but I wonder how to keep the tank correct temperature have read the website and everything they say is to put a heater in it, but I live in central Queensland and its very hot here. How do you cool an aquarium. Thanks
I do not know what I read, but you should never use a heater with an axolotl? These are cold water animals, Thay do not like when the water is above 65 degrees. Too hot water and try to transform them into a land-adult life, which can kill. Axolotls, unlike tiger salamanders live their lives permanently in the larval stage. But yes, if it is hot where you live, we'd need to find a way to keep the tank in the cool side. You can buy aquarium coolers that make these for saltwater tanks, and they are getting very little these days, but these will expensive! Do you have an air conditioned room or a basement that stays cool? These are really the only options you have if its temperature is so hot as I hear it gets. Also, do not use the lights on the tank, the axolotl really do not need, and can make the difference a few degrees in temperature! I have attached two axolotl good websites that I found recommended in this forum.
