A romantic getaway to Pole Pole Resort on Tanzania's Mafia Island
Pole Pole Resort is the perfect romantic getaway, ideal for a package of moon Romantic Honeymoon in Mafia Island off the coast of Tanzania. Mafia is a small wooded remote island accessible only by air, best of Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar or other parts of Tanzania through Dar. There are flights every day, but warned the aircraft is small, perhaps only 16 seats, not for the faint heart. After landing on a grass runway in the Mafia is still an hour by jeep.

Two bungalows are designated family rooms with a second bedroom with twin beds. With the lack of mains at Pole Pole is a bit of a surprise that the bedroom with a fan, and there's a shower without hot water shortages. Early morning tea in bed, putting the sun and cocktails on the terrace to live with you long after leaving Polo Polo.
There's really nothing to do but relax on a day bed, the swimming at high tide but the beach vanishes, and swimming at low tide is impossible. You can take dhow trips to remote beaches and islands where you will not see another soul, as all this place is so empty and unspoiled. Snorkeling and diving are quite amazing amazing fish, corals, and colors that really can not believe until you see it.
Polo Polo is really the kind of dream place for newlyweds who have spent the first part of its package romantic honeymoon on safari, and now just wants to relax.
Eating is an important feature in the Pole Pole, and there is a strong Italian team management here. As expected the food has an Italian flavor allies African and European influences spicy and delicious too. Most food is produced organically and purchased locally to benefit the local economy. You may find the interludes is something like octopus salad, and pasta will be on the menu. You will find that fish features highly on the menu, and often served ice cold dessert which is not bad considering that there is no mains electricity. The division of the dining area bar at the bottom of the hill, just off the reception area of the kitchen, lit by oil lamps and candles. With the elegant glassware and dishes that makes a lovely setting. If you are worried about not liking something in a very small menu, concerns were dispelled by the manager, who will be responsible for food problems are addressed. Of alcohol by the way is not expensive, and house wines can be ordered by the glass.
In terms of eating during the day, breakfast is a mixture of fresh local fruits, with the tastes of mango and papaya, bread, toast and eggs if you want. If you are on a trip is given a field day otherwise There is a light lunch at Pole Pole.
The staff at this remote outpost on the island of Mafia is very friendly and helpful. Polo Polo is a perfect place for a romantic moon honey, but probably five days would be a fairly long visit.
