Fish Finder Sample

There are two components to a screen fish finder: Type of Screen and screen resolution.

Display Type

Fish Finders have two main display types: Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) of cathode ray tube (CRT). An LCD generally have good contract in the summer, use a small amount of current and tend to be compact. They are available in resolutions up to 320 x 200 pixels, the smallest dot on the screen. Note that the protective lens over the screen should not cause glare excessive direct sunlight or it may be difficult to read the screen.

A CRT display is often compared to a television screen. CRTs are available in color and monochrome (gray scale) model. In the models of color on the relative strength of the echo sound back to the fish finder is displayed that allows the fisherman to differentiate between different objects easier. Some color screens are more difficult to see in direct sunlight than others. Depending on the model you choose may wish to consider a visor or mounting the display unit in a shady area.

Display resolution

The key to the screen resolution is the number of pixels is the number of "points" on the screen. The golden rule is that the more pixels in detail screen you will see. higher resolution models will allow you to see the fish near the bottom, distinguish objects grouped together and be able to see fish near bait balls.

There are two important components of the resolution: the number of vertical pixels and the total pixel count. The number of vertical pixels is the number of pixels the top of the bottom of the screen. The largest number of vertical pixels to sharpen the Finders "> fish finder shows target depths.

The total count of pixels is the number of pixels per square inch of the screen. The largest number of pixels The more detail you can see, the better the representation on screen is better and will be split-screen images. Note that in order to take advantage of very high resolutions will also drive high contrast on the screen.

Color vs. Monochrome Displays

Monochrome or grayscale screens display white images or black and gray tones. The low price of the pagers may not have a grayscale or greyscale all 4 levels. This means that there are not too unlike on the screen for different objects. The highest priced models may have up to 12 levels of grayscale per pixel. This higher contrast and allow more objective definition.

Color screens are generally more expensive. You will also pay more as you increase the screen resolution. On the screens color generally have fewer pixels actually fish finders black and white, but each pixel will have a maximum of 256 color choices. The different colors make it easier to distinguish between different types of targets.

Split screen or window of data

Some search engines fish that come with split-screen displays or Windows data. A split screen lets you see the different types of information simultaneously. You may have a dual transducer Finders "> fish finder and split screen to allow the screen to display images of the two transducers at the same time. Another application of the split screen is to have a database of the window in the middle of the screen. A data window can display digital information such as speed, depth, water temperature or latitude / longitude. The other half of the screen can display graphics as usual objects in the water.

Grayline ®, Appliances or Bottom Hardness

Most fish finder shows represent the bottom line through thin with a band of variable width below it. This section of the screen lets you see the objectives in the bottom and also indicates bottom hardness. An experienced fisherman, will often be able to differentiate between mud, sand and rocky bottoms. This functionality is different from brand to brand names such as Grayline, Appliances or bottom hardness, to dry.

It is obvious that without a reasonable screen will not be able to "see" the fish is finding sonar. Make sure you know what Display Type your fish finder has the time to buy.
