Late Fall, Early Winter Bass Fishing Tips
Well my friends, unfortunately we are completing another year of Bass Fishing here in the Northwest. However, it still can land a lunker yourself this fall with these tips:
1) Slow Fish, deep-sea fish: In the fall water temperature is important to pursue the low in the deeper waters and along the rocks that will help conserve heat. Often you will see schools Low laying on the rocks, trying to stay warm. Also, as the ice starts to hit the lake, the bass will head for more oxygen … hence, the deeper waters. As always, water cooler, slower media presentations. Metabolism actually decreases in this time of year, so it is important leave the bait in front of your nose as long as possible. Many times you will strike only in the reactions, so easy and simple.
2) flathead Jerk Baits: If you can find a flat head jerk bait at your local store address, grab. These baits suspended in water, and have a maneuver them much tighter then the average pull plug bait. This is very important in cold water temperatures. Many times, the fishermen make the mistake using a very flashy, sexy shaky at this moment and not get bit. These fish that want to attract slow …. The flat head is ideal for this.
Retrieve 3): Ensure that the work of the recovery as slow as possible. I like to pull, then wait 8-10 seconds, then toss again. The bass really need to see the presentation for awhile before we get the energy to hit him. manually count the seconds in the head to make sure it is quite slow. If you think you're going slow enough … You are going too fast!
4) The Lake: Make sure the fish in a lake that maintains its vegetation in the year as late as possible. Vegetation means of oxygen, and oxygen means more fish. Look for stones and rocks on the lake bottom. These areas retain more heat, and retain more fish.
In conclusion … The low years are running out of time, but the real fishing begins. Sure to see our articles in www.hungryhook.com for more information on winter fishing monster in the near future.
Happy Fishing, and respect for the lake.
