Interesting Bald Eagle Facts
The American bald eagle is the national symbol of America. He was chosen as our national symbol in 1782 and was elected by the golden eagle, because living in the North American continent, while the Golden Eagle also lives in Europe. At birth, it is truly an ugly duckling, but in four or five years will become a beautiful bird that inspires when he is in flight. There are eagles all over the world, but the American Bald Eagle only lives on the continent of North America. They are top of the food chain, making more vulnerable to toxic substances found in the environment. Because of this vulnerability and desire for feathers at a time when they were being chased and murdered
to the point of extinction. That's why we were put in Endangered Species Acts.
