How long is the crab fishing season in Alaska and how long you have off? Average revenue per yer?
Usually, only a few days long as 72 hours, king crab is once a year and snow crab is what I think twice a year. The pay is awesome if you catch a lot of crabs. Mariners get anywhere from $ 500 to 50 thousand, again, depends on the capture and master what they are paying. Their pay is based as a percentage of the total $ $ amount received by the catch in weight. The Discovery Channel has a program based on the lives of crab fisherman and the website shown below. http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/deadliestcatch/deadliestcatch.html I hope this answers your question and if your thinking of becoming a crab fisherman Good Luck, is dangerous. Usually there is at least one death for every season.
